I can not believe the year is over. Where has time gone!! This year I have worked on finding my everyday makeup routine and I love it! Most of the products listed, I use every time I apply my makeup. Some of them are alternatives to my last year’s makeup favorites. Check out my 2016 Makeup Favorites HERE. All of the products listed I bought in 2017, however two of them I have repurchased a couple of times. Let me know some of your favorite makeup products you used in 2017. Of course, thank you for another great year!!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette– This is my favorite eyeshadow palette of all time!! I use the palette almost everyday. You can create so many looks with this palette. I normally use a black or a dark gray. However, this palette does not contain either of those colors. The dark green & the dark purple in this palette work as a great alternative! With this palette, I see myself wearing every shade. The color variation is a plus, but having some matte shades and also some shimmery shades attracted me most to the palette. I love how I can use a matte for my crease then add a shimmer color to the lid. The array of colors create for an everyday use or for a dramatic eye look.
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara– Another Too Faced fave! I can honestly say Too Faced was my favorite brand of the year without a doubt!! This is a product that I have repurchased. I first bought the travel size of this mascara to see how I would like it . To my surprise I did. I used the Benefit They’re Real Mascara for the longest. That mascara was my all time favorite that I used everyday. However, it got replaced by this mascara. The Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara gives me the volume and length that I need and love.
Bareminerals Bearskin Foundation– I rarely buy new foundations. Like never! I love to find a good foundation I can use for a while. I went to ULTA to get my makeup done one day, and the makeup artist used this foundation on me and recommended that I buy. I decided why not, since it looked and felt really nice on. The formula is a little more liquidy than what I’m use to. Typical matte foundations that I use are normally dry, this one however, is not at all. The finish of the Bareminerals foundation is very dewy. The foundation claims to be a medium coverage foundation. However, it does claim to be able to build up the coverage you desire. I would have to agree that the foundation can be light to full coverage depending on how much you apply. I definitely apply the foundation to be full coverage.
MAC Lipstick in Whirl– I have been eying this lip color for forever. I’ve always wonder how it would look on me. I decided to go ahead and buy. At first, I did not like this color at all. Fast forward and now this is my everyday lip color. It looks so good on and works for all skin shades. The lipstick is so good, there is no need for a lipliner. However, MAC does have a lipliner in this color as well.
Mineralize Skinfinish in Naturally Enhanced–I love how the bronzer has four different shades within itself. Depending on the look I am trying to accomplish, I can match it with one of the shades from the bronzer. However, most often I mix all the shades together on a typical day. Depending on how much you’re willing to pay for a bronzer, this one is more pricer than others. However, you get four bronze shades and it is definitely worth the price!
Urban Decay Setting Spray– This has made my list for many years now. The only setting spray I use is the Urban Decay Setting Spray. I have ordered this product 4 times! That is crazy. I have never repurchased a product that many times before. This setting spray is good. It helps for my makeup to stay on for an extended amount of time, while also controlling the oil and shine on my face.
Colourpop Concealers– I did not like these concealers for the longest. Recently, I noticed this is the only concealer I use. I bought 4 concealers because looking online I could not determine which shade would be best for me. In fact I was right. I got 4 colors that coordinate with each and are the same shade range. There is no concealer that matches me perfect, so I have to mix these concealers. This sucks, but I knew that this would be the case. That is why I got four. The colors I got are: Tan 50, Deep Tan 55, Deep Golden 60, and Rich Tan 65. My favorite thing about these concealers is the brush. The brush is like no other brush I’ve seen or used. It is similar to any concealer brush, small in size. But instead of being hard, the brush is soft and very flexible.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Buck-I have never tried Urban Decay shadows before. I have always been obsessed with their Naked Palettes and how beautiful those colors were. I finally got my hands on one of their single shadows. Shopping online for eyeshadow is very hard, because you can’t not get the real effect of the color. I looked at a lot of swatches and decided to get “Buck”. I really wanted to get this color because it looks like a really pigmented crease color. Crease colors are my favorite and this color would go well with any look. Buck can also be found in Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. This is the only single eyeshadow I use!
Becca Soft Light Blurring Setting Powder– For the longest I used my Laura Mercier setting powder. I ran out of the product and decided to try out a new setting powder. The Becca powder comes in two shades. The shade I use is in ‘Golden Hour.’ Let me say that there is a lot of product in the packaging. It is taking me forever to get through it! Only con I have about this powder, is that it can be messy at times. When I apply it on my face, it falls out. Also at times it is hard to blend in. I will say these cons are small because the setting powder helps to set my face and control my oil throughout the day.
