The #1 thing I hope to accomplish this year, is learning how to plan better. When your life is very busy, it is hard keeping up with important dates and activities. Writing things down is the best thing you can do in order to help with time management. Since I started using a planner, I have been stress free. It’s amazing how much of a difference a planner can make. I use a planner for my everyday activities, due dates, and appointments. I use an agenda for school activities. It also helps if you find an agenda or planner that is really cute and will motive you to use.
In addition to my agenda and planner, I also use a notebook. I use a notebook to write down things such as: passwords and information for sites, quotes that I love, things I want to accomplish, and other similar things. The notebook is less stressful and is used for me to be open minded.
I love writing in colorful pens. I rather look at something colorful then dual. It also helps you to not get bored easily because your eyes are use to seeing the typical black or blue ink. Color coding is not for me, just because I don’t see a difference in it. However, for a lot of people, it is really helpful to look at your agenda and automatically know what to do or is due.
Use the Notes App
There have been many times when I am out and I do not have my planner with me. I quickly write down things in the notes app on my phone. It took me a while to actually start using this app, but I love it so much! Whenever I am in class and the teacher is leading a discussion, I’ll joint down key points on the app and later I can easily access it.
Set Due Dates & Times
Mark the final deadline on your calendar, but you should also set another deadline a week before. This will help your mind know that you have a week to complete the task and also it will help you know what you should be doing that week. It helps you get projects done faster because you may try to complete the task before the week is over. If you do meet the early deadline, more time for relaxation!
Don’t Let Social Media Distract YOU!!
This is my hardest thing when it comes to time management. I normally do not get distracted easily. However, social media always finds a way to distract me. Turn off notifications or even your phone completely when trying to complete the task. If you can’t do this, try placing the phone away from you.
Most Importantly, DON’T STRESS!! Finding a routine that works for you is very important. I suggest trying out different techniques and seeing what tips will work for you and help you.
